Not to get technical, but no one reign supreme on the server. They think they are supreme, but they are not. They may have a 'sense of supreme' or 'power', however they have no power over anyone.

Sometimes we forget to check ourselves before we check others. Meaning, we forget the consequences of our actions and let our actions take over and take it on others. Of course, it has more meaning behind it, but that's what I see at the moment.

The problem here, I do see. The whole helper team needs to be reevaluated in an official way. I'm talking rating the helper's recent performance to make sure they are up to snuff.

About the second part, I agree as well. The mods/admins/helpers have not been doing a sufficient job with chat infractions. All though they have gotten better since my last post about the issue, I still often see fights in Global go unhandled by staff who are online and actively playing or chatting.

1. Great Idea
2. Staff is probably too afraid of demoting people if they are a bad helper. Once a helper always a helper.

And about your second part. Rule #3 has been broken many times over and over again. No one does anything about it. This just recently happened about 5 hours ago from the time of this post.

Also yes, the amount of cursing has gotten a lot better.

However, this is not true, at least from my experience.
There is pretty much one reason Kye got helper.
He was friends with all the staff.

Exactly; but he GOT HELPER. He cursed out people every day in global AS HELPER, and it took him weeks to get demoted. And then, if I recall correctly, he got re-promoted like 2 days later, and threw another tantrum, and got demoted again. He only got the position because he was liked by a VERY small fraction of the staff.

Heys just keep in mind helpers aren't suppost to be this extremely powerful rank, it was designed so that we didn't have to promote new players to moderators right away. It's basically designed so we could promote the worst possible players and they could do no damage.

"Once a helper always a helper."
Heh, we had a hall of shame for demoted players and helpers, just hasnt been updated in a while.

This situation has been brewing for weeks. Almost everytime I have seen helpers trying to stop the situation, or sometimes normal players joining in. Ive muted people a few times when I saw it going too far. The issue is, people dont understand that people are always going to be as*holes, and theres nothing we can do. If we permban a player for it, or even mute them, then theres 10 ready to take their place. We try as hard as possible, but at the end of the day, people will hardly ever change. Now you might argue that we should just ban those people. Honestly, I think half the server would be gone if we permbanned those players that caused issues regularly, but always issues in global chat, but issues between players are constantly there.
The point about players having "power", trust me, the admins and mods wouldnt hesitate to ban a player who thought they had "power", when they actually are just making them self look better than they are.
Chance, at the end of the day, if a staff member has a serious problem with someone who might be getting promoted, then they dont get promoted. You know that. The reason kye got promoted was because we thought he changed. After doing all that stuff the first time he got demoted, and honestly, im not sure how he got repromoted, I dont recall being there, though I might have been. But he did get demoted and banned, didnt he?
People expect us to constantly be watching, 24/7 making informed decisions every second of the day, when honestly, we cant. Its not how it works. Say a law is going to be passed in, it doesnt happen in the space of a day does it? Obviously its not on the same level as a staff member being demoted, but the fact is we need to get everyones opinion on the matter, and eventually do something, and some people can be harder to get a hold of than others.
Reevaluating the helper team is something that we have been planning, but due to time zones, personal matters which I wont be explaining for obvious reasons, and hasnt been possible at the moment.
Trust me, staff members do try. If they didnt they would be gone by now(or will be going very shortly). Its harder than you think to deal with the matters in a way, and honestly, its partly the players fault that staff are almost "scared" to mute players. Everytime I see a player getting muted, the muted player will start messaging the staff member, swearing and saying they will get reported for inproperly muting them. I see this happening way to much.
Personally, I dont believe that the chat rules should be enforced vigorously, people being muted for saying a single wrong word, or back to the older days where people would get tempbanned for basic chat infractions. Drama is constantly here, and everywhere. We're not in a different universe, we are in the real life. Drama will always exist, theres no way of getting away, theres no way of hiding completly. The /ignore command is helpful, but I understand it always isnt good enough.
Report things like this directly to a staff member. I will create a post in the staff forums where staff can upload a screenshot of it and the staff can hopefully look at it together and properly.
