It's easy.
When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, don’t answer it.This is not to say that you don’t respond to their question; you do. Just not with an answer to the question they asked. No matter how many times they ask it, don’t answer the question.

How I would have answered the question:

Ah, I wish that that was the case; sadly, due to a new rush of eager new players, many people are experiencing lag.
Last night it reached a breaking point, and sadly, to all our chagrin, the server crashed due to running out of memory.
Do not fret, the server will be continue to be online every Sunday, if it can!
