Item for planting seeds faster

Hey,

ok we all in global agreed that planting seeds in minecraft in general is one of the most boring things there is. Especially now, with the new crops like onion etc there are even more crops and seeds to be planted. (Dont get me the wrong way. I really like how difficult the seeds are to obtain and how rare they are and just are a fan of more seeds etc)

We thought about an item that can be used to make planting easier. I am aware that this is maybe hard to code therefore one first suggestion on how it could work

Im thinking of an item that needs to crafted using the altar. The final item would be a "seed bag" (can be called differently just to get the idea) . The bag itself when open using right click has 5 slots. PLayers can insert seeds into it. Now when you plant while holding the bag in your hand you will use the seeds in the bag to plant on a 3*3 range. The issue will be that you can open the bag right clicking looking pointing somewhere except on plowed dirt.

I back this vision 100%. I believe it has the potential to create more incentive for players to want to obtain rare seeds and create farms, if not to just create larger farms. I like how this would not effect the obtaining of the seeds in any way, thus not reducing the challenge. This would be an excellent time-saver for those with massive farms (or herbalism grinders). If it is not too difficult to implement, I'd certainly like to see something similar to this put into motion.

If it would simplify the process then I definitely don't see a problem with it

yeah why not. I got 2 qeustions tho.

1. are you thinking for having an easier way for several seeds or just the normal "seed" (for wheat)
2. and i would maybe name it not "hoe" as it is not intuitive that the spectral hoe can plant seeds. (considering what all the other hoes can do)

First of all, i'd like to apologize for not posting my opinions on this earlier. I read it thoroughly and agree with the thought of making replanting/tilling a little less monotonous. I have a few farms that are relatively large and a feature such as this would certainly be useful. I find that I spend an extensive amount of time working on replanting, as well as repetitively going back and forth from chest to farm for more seeds. I believe that a spectral hoe (speculating that it would follow the prior pattern of the pickaxe/spade and do a 3x3 area) would be exceedingly convenient for quickly cultivating soil, thus saving time, which I believe might allow more players the want to start or proceed on their own plots.

About the idea of a "seed bag." I think it's a great idea to have a special bag/satchel that has a few (4-5) slots that you can fill with seeds and as long as you have the "bag" in your inventory and walking on tilled soil, it will automatically drain the seeds from the bag by planting them on the soil (or something similar). Another benefit of the bag is the inventory space it would save.

One of the obstacles of success for the bag concept is if you have several types of seeds in the particular bag. If this project moves into the execution stage, I'm hopeful that there is some way that this can be coded so that this obstacle can be overcome.
