Local Mp3. Uploads

Post by PhantomAtLarge » Tue Mar 24, 2015 2:14 pm

Not many people know this, but I love to make dubstep tracks on garageband.
There is just one problem. I don't have any way of uploading them to the server. I have tried pico song, and after 5 minutes it stops working.
So, I wait, my songs unheard by the amazing people on this server. :sadsad:
But wait! I have an idea  . Local mp3 file options.
It is simple, just have a feature that allows us to use local files in our music players.
This would save music makers like me a lot less time doing this :headbang: and this  , so I can worry more about the people doing this :morons: .

If it's locally on your computer then no one else can hear it though... The file has to be hosted somewhere where it can be accessed by everyone, everyone else's computer wont be able to play the song since is doesn't have anyway to download the song.
Sadly I don't know a service that works, for my music I just upload the mp3's to my website and play them off that.

Perhaps a craftland local file downloader or something like that. It could auto download the local file and host it here on craftland.org.

Or even better, a thread to upload your songs on the forum that creates the link.

The problem is songs take up a lot of space, and a lot of bandwidth. If everyone started hosting all there songs off of the forum it can really impact server performance if a lot of people are streaming songs at once.

The other thing is copyright issues, its not the biggest thing but I don't think nide wants to illegally host copyright music on his server. Even if it was just for people to upload there own music then someone would still have to monitor the music.

You could try hosting your music off of sound cloud but I don't know how they structure there music downloads.

Perhaps we could create a craftlandmp3.net or something
If we made a separate website for the uploads that craft land can pull things from, this might be possible.

Still, copyright issues though.

We put it up that any songs on the website don't belong to Nidefawl or the admins, and non-copyright songs are not Nidefawl or any of the admins' fault.

If you want to buy the domain and rent the web hosting by all means go ahead.

But as long as nidefawl is still paying he would still be responsible for the content on that website.

I know your young, but trust me copyright law is a lot more complex than you think and music companies love making money off lawsuits...

Wait, songs that are home made have no copyright. If one were to post a song, before it is uploaded, it has to be checked out by an admin, mod or helper. That way no songs with copyrights are posted and no lawsuits are filed.
