The Summoning

Post by Psylocybin » Fri Mar 13, 2015 3:29 pm

I just throw in some MC ideas that came up during midday, when i thought about GOG2 (just wild thoughts, no expectations)

- Customization of Entities in an ingame sort of editor: like for example you can build a multiblockstructure called the summoner (Stonehenge maybe?)

the area can be fairly big and requires lots of different ressources like for example certain sockets (MC-valuables) for the stonehendgegates to light up in maybe different colors (shades) or with different effects (shadepowers)

the portals could provide some sort of immaterial resource which depens on the value placed in the socket and has to be renewed after each use

in this structure you can access mutationtrees (like in thaumcrafts thaumonomicon) in order of how many mobs you killed from each type ingame (needs no additional items that way only count the mobkills in the playerfile)

either in the middle of the structure a certain accesspoint or the portals each are accesspoints in order to some things like biome temperature maybe? (portals could lead to all sort of shades of the astral plane like energypools for the summoning = 16 shades like 16 portals?)

allows to choose a creature out of all entities ingame (addition to JAS)

this allows to configure how a new creature shall look like when summoned, thinkable might be further customization like arms, head, feet and body which can be adjusted in size or even be modular put together from different mobs (chimeras)

the summonermainblock shows you (GUI) how much of each type of mob you ve killed already so far in its treescheme, for each summoning you lose those GOG2-experience (researchpoints) and you would have to go out again and kill mobs to get again some researchpoints to summon another creation

the summonerstructure needs to be fueled with MC-experience (no new concepts need to be established that way, of course lots of xp is needed- possibly even potions could make it back into the game with this as ingredients for the summoning = acitvates the brewing stand again in modded MC)

identities for new mobs could be placed in: for example bipedal-mediumsize-wings-weapons-attacks, etc.

there is a slight percent chance the summoning fails and the creature becomes maybe herobrine 0,1% (people - kids - would love it)

herobrine of course hunts you down and tries to kill you,

somehow means he appears in a random cycle from now on (first you summon him he will try to kill you of course that time), which can only be prevented by staying in areas where the lightlevel allows no mobspawning, defense of course is possible with weapons and gear = herobrine can be slain each time he appears (in multiplayer he will attack every attacker but will remain logged onto the poor guy who had the summoning fail the next time of his spook

of course the herobrine event get slightly rarer over time

If the summoner manages to summon a pure soul, he manages to exorcise herobrine from himself or others with the summoned pure soul)

pure souls are of course a critical success

pure souls grant you everytime an additional live in a MC hardcore game (discontinues if you did not manage to get a new pure soul of course) or negotiate a future failure of a summoning like herobrine as mentioned earlier

the more friendly and neutral mobs you kill the more you change to the dark side (light side the other way around)

dark or light will determine if you are going to change your own playermodell in a certain way into a GOG2 mob related to one of the sides

dark summoners can have more expenses in summoning light creatures but have bonus (discount) in summoning dark ones and the other way for light summoners or they can only summon the creatures related to their ideology

only neutral summoners can upgrade their summoning altars and reawaken dead pets

every entity can be a pet but needs an additional class like the beastmaster to tame creatures as pets or get followers (costs lots of levels of MC experience)

pets can be sold to other players in SMP for diamonds (each pet has its own value already given (config) = negotiates economy problems)

once a pet dies it remains dead, but can be awakened by a summoner (the type of the summoner defines then the

reawakened pet is bound to the summoner (who did the job) and needs to be paid again by the other player to obtain it again

the pet funcionallity could possibly work with every entity in MC and from mods

this would announce the summoner as a new class in RPG minecraft next to the thaumaturg from Thaumcraft

this would give the functionallity of spawners in minecraft a bit more sense if there would be a class to be identified with spawning creatures

spawners could that way be seen as inprisoned souls of dead summoners of a certain kind of singularities like portals to another dimension like mentioned above the immaterial plane of souls (astral plane) where no matter is available, which allows the concept of rebirth (respawn) in minecraft to be explained

spawners could be obtainable as blocks no longer as working spawners and be a ingredient in summonings aswell or maybe a way to build a portal into the astral plane out of spawners like in the size of a standard nether portal (requieres 10 diff. spawners) portal could be activated with bonemeal and would lead into the inner of a creature means the one who passes the portal can choose in which creature he wants to transform him.

The astral plane would never be a real dimension but rather be a way to control other entieties as player (great thing of trolling other players)
manifestations of the astral plane in the overworld can be sounds, halos, shades (not matter)
