Gold Rush tips?

Anybody have any tips for a good Gold Rush? I had a course set up in advance, and had only around 80 points. While somebody had 300 points entirely off of luck. Should I just try to get lucky? Because I really don't get much luck with this kinds of things. I made a long tunnel and only found around 6 veins of gold/diamond.

Does this mean I should just pray for luck since this person found about 24 veins off pure luck? Or make another route?

The Ultimate route: 1: Get a friend to help scout out ores and tp to them while in a party to mine the ore they find.

2. Take a efficent 7+ pick, full set of valkyrie armor and mine around in circles while running you got more of a chance of mining in circles to find ores than in a Straight line because ores are "everywhere and common" in this world.

3. Make sure to take a anvil, some levels, and diamonds with you and a stack of food as you will need it to last the 30 minutes of gold rush.

4. Make sure you split with your friend at the end then you are #1 at gold rush all ways.

5. Always make it to the gold rush as soon as it starts DO NOT waste time or else there is no point trying you already lost by a few seconds.
