Lanuage set global chat

Post by YT_Rivenful » Wed Oct 29, 2014 10:59 pm

When you log on a box pops up and asks what your language is you get to pick. Once you are done picking your language (French for example) everyone's talking English but instead all their words in the global chat gets translated to French and if you say something in French it comes up as English on their screen if they picked the English global chat option.

how would such a thing even work? We all know that translating services all suck. Also, everyone on the internet communicates with many grammatical errors and shorthand forms of words. Slang is also very common. Most words aren't even spelled correctly. Also, different sayings in different languages make no sense in others. This is a good idea but it seems impossible to implement.

I've said multiple times, when you log in, it should ask what languages you speak, and put you in the appropriate channels.
So, if you don't speak english, you don't get put in global.

Then they get confused why nobody else is in their chat.

Please donate rails, stonebricks, and gold ores to the hopper at /warp TheSC. We need many of those in order to build the railroad network in Greycliff.

Its not worth the time or the extra latency adding in a translator.
