A look back on the Video Contest, many months later.

Post by Joyman533 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 2:54 am

This is my honest view of the video contest that took place in March. For final results, visit http://craftland.org/#contest/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Laggiest: Aside from the music, this video is actually pretty good. It is a nice showcase of Craftland, with many pictures and features, and I might have joined Craftland after seeing it.

Dom: This video has two really good points: The music and the nostalgia. You can see a lot of stuff that has since gone into the past in this video. Other than that it's a decent showcase video, similar to Laggiest's.

zackh51 This is a really good video, and the music makes it even better. Aside from the bad editing, I wish it was a bit longer and showed more features.

SPIDERS_ I think this was one of the best videos in the contest. It had decent editing and music, and would definitely have made me join Craftland.

anton800 I think that the animation is very cool, and the survival games is definitely interesting. However, he could have shown more of Craftland besides MCSG.

Handyman This is an outlier in the video contest in that instead of having some music and showing us features, Handyman actually takes us through Craftland as himself, and this really made me see Craftland differently. I'm not sure if I would have joined if I was new, but this video definitely showcases what is great about Craftland.

Crash Removed my review to not start arguments.

rator994 The video is gone, can't say much about it.

What This is just a beautiful showcase. It's definitely among the best.

MaStAGAmeRz It's a fun video, with a pace similar to zackh51's. I like it, except the music distracted me a bit.

Energyxxer It's a very good video, definitely comparable to What's. It nicely showcases the features of Craftland, and I would probably join after seeing this.

Krebs/Thor/Dovahkiin/Jor: The video is a bit simple, but the funny music made up for it. This video really made me smile the whole time I watched it. I would really have joined Craftland after seeing this video.

camyoshi I really liked this video with the original music, it's a shame he had to remove it because of Nintendo copyright. This is a funny video, and a great showcase of why someone would play Craftland. I would definitely join after watching this video with the original music.

Please donate rails, stonebricks, and gold ores to the hopper at /warp TheSC. We need many of those in order to build the railroad network in Greycliff.

Crash 2/5

Somehow I am not surprised considering you wrote this.

Also, why did you have to bring all this up again?

I wanted to put all the personal issues aside and rate just the video that was created, not the person who created it.

Why is that such a big deal anyways? I mean nobody wins anything about that right? Is it just because of the majority or inseder part of the players is not pleased with the fact that a minority made however a goal in a game? It don´t wanna defend anyone here.

I am a bit disappointed that the debate about the contest ist still going on in the wrong direction, that way it´s questionable if contests are a opportunity for craftland or not? If the outcome is always a conflict it´s not reasonable to do so. I would rather prefer getting into a respectful discussion and not always in a gunfight if anything is not streamline or not percieved streamline, which i assume is mostly the issue in this case. The funny thing about it is that even neutral or personal opinions lead to a bad taste somewhere else.

I honestly do not completley understand the problem. In my case i voted and I did that without preferences. That we got different player groups on craftland is nothing new to me but the politic should not be made by majority it should although be some way of teamwork. So why dont u all use your heat to melt something like the craftland hammer on youtube with the opportunity some of you got and bash some waves into the minecraft ocean?

You could take this s..t away and think about how to evolve the thing in a way of it´s possibilities. If it´s really so hard then just get together all people who made a video on the contest, they already made proof they can record and start something like a youtube channel together? That way the insulting and jelling would stop and craftland, joyman and all other ones would see a win win situation if a group of players would record every week 15 minutes of lets say littleblock or quarterblock timelapse, or aether timelapse, or even reverse timelapse, mob showcases, feature showcases and hundreds of other opportunities. That would get a like of everyone on this server but i guess noone got the guts for that, it apparently is easier to fight.

Yours

Soul

I made this thread to give everyone who participated in the contest some positive feedback that they deserved.

A craftland player. I wanted to tell everyone who made a video for the contest how much I actually liked their work.
