A very... furry idea

Post by Robman533 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 1:44 pm

Hello everyone,

A few months ago, I had this idea that's all about animals and stuff, so I decided to write it all down in a noteblock. I'll just copy paste what's in that noteblock on this topic, so if something's not clear, please ask away. Also give me your opinion on this if possible!

Code: Select all

let people adopt any animal pet NOT VILLAGERS (small prices).
--> 2 options: we look after it until it's an adult OR they take it with them (empty spawn egg)

+ look after peoples moas: incubate them, feed them, public moa adult parking, etc.

+ shopchests with moa food and other animal food (cow: wheat, etc.) and saddles for sale.
on each shopchest with food: a sign saying which animal(s) eat it.

+ endangered species pens: penguins, pandas, mooshrooms.

+ a pen for every adopted baby until they grow up. sign above entrance of each pen indicating whose baby it is.

+ private area for building staff: breeding pen (to get new babies).

+ pens for people to store their pandas (a pen for every panda and then a sign above entrance saying whose panda it is)

make the pens look beautiful and fun for the animals to be in (varies to which habitat the animal in pen likes).
~ Rob.

My idea to the pet thing is make it a premium 6 rank thing or shopitem to choose whatever animal you want and it will have a own inventory like a big backpack. It will collect automatically all blocks laying around in a radius of 7 blocks. It will follow you and warp. It has the ability to store its inventory itsel in a chest you gave him. It could have have a brother which would then be capable of sorting all your chests.

Would love to see a sentry stone hopping behind me as pet.

Plus install the holo inventory mod where you can see the inventory of each container. Item storing problem fixed.

I suggest you mods or admins do a voting for that and talk to nide so that we know his meaning about something like that.

Yours Soul

PS: Take the ideas in here and mess around till we get a concept!

This sounds cool, Soul. However... Makes things easier again for Premium VI players, which they don't want to do.

Premiums giant inventory is already like a giant backpack.

Just having mobs/animals as pets though would be purely cosmetic.

Agreed, but the sorting functionality is interesting i guess or?
Some mods provide a solution like the one I was talking about. I guess it was wichtcraft, the thaumcraft golems, etc.

I was online the first time Rob came up with this idea (right before he rushed towards the forums to post it :P )
and I think even though it might be not very easy to set it up (get all the spawner, areas, prices and administration of it right). But there sure is some potential, especially for people who, let's say someone wants to train taming, they could buy a couple of wolves from the shop and go there again, once the wolves are.. "depleted"
Or if someone wants a Panda to ride, without having to rent or buy a pandaspawner (or stealing it ofc) they could go there.

I see one problem though: while the idea is nice and sure has potential, I am afraid it will lack a bit of efficiency, but if Rob is willing to put ton's of effort into it, even without getting that much in return, it will be surely a nice place to buy pets!
