What happened to The Frozen?

Was it just abandoned completely? I think the idea had a pretty solid structure, what with all the player suggestions and support.

There is a newworld, world, nether, aether and countless end worlds, each with their respective player structures and in the aether naturally spawned boss dungeons. Wouldn't hurt to add a few more boss dungeons?
