griefings in oldworld!

Post by Handyman » Fri Dec 20, 2013 7:31 pm

How come that almost half of all regions are gone so that others have gone griefing as they like!?!?
Some of you might not care, but as older player this really disturbs me, there are really some awesome places to be found there but this makes the places just like a ruined playground where everyone can do as they like.

Most of the griefing in the old world are done year(s) ago which would be unrollbackable. So unless anyone is willing to rebuild everything, you're out of luck.

Nice word Porkkana! xD

Griefing in Old world should be taken on a rather serious note, considering lots of the attractions to Craftland altogether came from there. New players coming across an awesome massive structure may just be the difference between them telling their friends, or not doing so. Though there aren't many methods to fixing things broke long ago....

What I'm also concerned about is that region just aren't there anymore, if this is looked into it could prevent further griefings.

In order to solve this problem for future region griefing is to improve the regions to be there forever and make log notes improved to be there forever too. Or every once and awhile get a new region put over the old regions to reset the region protection Or regions can be made so they reset on their own every month.

regions don't "Expire" they last forever unless someone removes them. And its impossible to log everything, the logs at one point (4 months of logs) were about 3 gigs and it caused a lot of problems, all the the MySQL queries were taking at least 2 minutes.

Was the problem just related to lengthy database queries? I think it's a fair trade-off to be able to restore old griefs. Can you not backup much of this old data on some external hard drives?
