They are called free posts, and it's quite easy to set them up.

Windows 7.

+ It runs games, has support for most stuff.
- I despise it, it's enormous on my drive, and it's glitchy and obnoxious.

Mac OSX Lion.
+ It's pretty and has a good GUI.
-Has little support for many games, and feels restrictive.

Linux
+Has a flavor for everybody, has a supportive community, and you can customize it to whatever you want.
-Doesn't game quite as well as W7, and has less support.

+1 for Windows 7. Much better than Windows 8, will probably have the lifespan of Windows XP. I haven't noticed any glitches on my Windows 7 machine. As they say, YMMV.

I like my Mac. It's pretty. Hate Lion, though, which is why I'm still running Snow Leopard. May consider upgrading to OS X Mavericks when it comes out this fall.

I heart Linux; I run it on two of my PCs. I don't use them for gaming though. They're mostly for school stuff, and tinkering with code.

Now that I think about it, I have too many computers in my house. And too many bikes. Oh well.
