Got bored today, made a universal remote from a kit that just turns off TVs. At really long range.

Things I learned:

1) I'm horrible at soldering, and have no idea where to put a cordless soldering iron. My lap, for example, is not a good spot.

2) Wires are better stripped with wire strippers, but box cutters work when nothing else is available.

3) Generally, it's better to have wire cutters that household scissors. The bottom of the remote is full of spikes because I couldn't get a clean cut.

4) I'm most productive when I'm bored as hell.
