There are no error logs on my system (that I can find).

Anyway, I submitted a bug report. Hopefully we can get this fixed for you soon.
Ok thanks.I hope it can be fixed.

I attempted to bypass the .jar version by installing WINE and then the Windows version of Java. I was able to successfully install WINE and Java, but when I ran the launcher .exe file, it too crashed.

My thought was to have a temporary workaround until we could solve the issue with the launcher crashing under Ubuntu. You may still give it a try:

To install the latest version of WINE

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.4
Then download and install the Windows version of Java (32 or 64 depending on your system architecture):
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 80261.html

After downloading the Java installer, locate the file in your ~/Downloads folder, right click it, select Properties, click the Permissions tab, and make sure "Allow executing file as program" is checked. Then, double click the installer and it should automatically open in WINE. Follow the installer prompts to complete the installation.

Finally, download the Craftland Launcher.exe:
http://craftland.org/#download
Again, you may need to check that permissions are set to allow executing file as program. This is done the same way as the Java installer.
Run the Craftland Launcher.exe file and cross your fingers. If it's going to crash, it'll do so right after you see a full progress bar.

I also tried to run the .jar version of the launcher under WINE, and.... it crashed the same way it did when run natively in Ubuntu.

I had actually already tried this and it crashed for me too.

I installed Fedora 19 (64 bit) to look into this problem. At first, I got the same problem as you guys did (the crash as soon as you join the game) so I checked the output stream and got this log: http://pastebin.com/VQJrYQHk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which shows that the problem comes from libNativeBass64.so, part of bass module.
Disabling Bass in the launcher fixed the problem for me.
I run it with openjdk-7 and Gallium graphics driver (my cards are two HD5770).

I'll try this but that may only work on that Linux Distro because there are big differences between every linux.

This finally got it to work I just connected to the server and it showed blocks, chunks and signs. Finally, this is the first Aether 1 server I have ever been on. Now do I need to start another topic to ask how to install Optifine if possible?
