Grey Screen

I log into the server, and it initially shows the fog, but then the screen goes grey, and states this,

"Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out"

Fix?

When you open the minecraft application, before logging into minecraft, click options and select force update. Then log in and try getting on to the server. I don't know if that is the fix, but I had something similar happen to me and that is what I did to fix it
