Private Chat

Edit: I didn't post this to attack anyone personally. This is a "Rant" I have. Hence, the reason why I kept it professional and wished to share my thoughts with everyone to see. Of course, it does address certain people, but if you are going to get angry over what i said, I apologize.

I'm not going to mention any names, but if you get upset that someone is talking bad about you regardless if they are talking bad about you personally or other matter. That's a personal opinion that they have. To get upset over it shows that you can't be the bigger person, especially if you retaliate such as for example, banning the person. I had my fair share of be talked about, but i learn to be the bigger person. It's not that hard to put your big boy/girl pants on...

I want to say, that I'm guilty of cursing (and other stuff) in Private Chat all the time to prevent getting muted in Global Chat. No one reported me and I'm sure in the future no one will. It's a conversation between two people. If they believe i'm 'harassing' them or 'abusing', they would report me obviously, which is never my intention of doing neither.

Another thing is... No one should intervene or send "ban request" on something that you are not involved in. I know a lot of us here are in different parts in the world, but in America, the people involve are the only people that can file a report to get the law on the other person. Not the other way around. You can't file a divorce for a married couple, for example.

Snooping into other peoples private matters is wrong (like the NSA). You wouldn't like it if someone goes through your personal information without your permission. You wouldn't like it if Facebook or Google decided to go and see your personal information and intervene right? THEN, you wouldn't do it in Craftland either.

This includes both the players in Craftland and Staff...Learn to grow up and stop intervening on personal matters...

I respect everyones privacy. No one but me can see the private chat messages.
If someone is harrassing another player (and we had really bad cases of that) I will go and look up the private messages.

I'm not google or your goverment. This is a minecraft server. If our players get harassed by someone in private messages I will look that up and speak out bans.

The private chat is not encrypted, but only I can access it. I only read them while I'm currently working on the server console or there is a report about things being said in private messages.

If I then come across something that I consider worth a ban I will speak out a ban without having to show that private conversations to anyone.

If you have a problem with that you should probably not play on my server.

I was speaking out to everyone in General because this was an ongoing thing this week... Everyone was being nosy and intervening on private matters. It's completely wrong and should be respected.

I understand where you are coming from nidefawl. I simply see it as an "global" issue that doesn't just include you.


Edit: It's also my personal opinion on the matter...Take it like a grain of salt if you don't like it.
