Re: Autoclicking Poll
my opinion personally is that autoclicking should not be allowed even if you are there or not. And if you ask why? because it's a lot easier to make the rules remain simple and just say it's not allowed at all. From all the people I've talked to so far the majority of all of them are against autoclickers which I "myself" am against as well as it's normally not allowed on servers and goes under the category of cheat.

Re: Autoclicking Poll
It isn't just a MCMMO cheat, it is also , in theory, an AFK machine, therefor is bannable. Thing is, people are banning for the MCMMO cheat, when the AFK machine is an absolute ban. My suggestion, Auto Clicks are not their own ban reason, but included in "AFK Machine".

Re: Autoclicking Poll
I'm glad a poll like this was created, one was highly needed long ago never thought about one but it looks like most people agrees to ban anyone who uses an auto clicker get rid of people afking their skills for sure, like tnt said it is a "AFK Bot"

Re: Autoclicking Poll
I somewhat agree with Caity, though I think we should be allowed to use auto-clickers when building.Caity wrote:Reasons why it should be banned:
-It is unfair to other players.
-On most server autoclicking would be seen as "cheating"
-Players who level mcmmo fairly never get a chance to win anything.
-Players who use autoclicking have an advantage over everyone else who is fairly leveling their mcmmo.
-The new players feel the server is focused towards old players which it is not.
-New players are discouraged in participating in server wide events such as arena, goldrush and quake.
-New players never get a chance to get great items and catch up with the older players because of the advantage that players who use autoclicking have.
-Gives players the impression that cheating is allowed on the server.
-Players can easily just go AFK for several hours and almost have their skill leveled up to max.
The use of autoclickers on the server is overall unfair and should NOT be allowed.
I want to ask this question: Why not just remove MCmmo altogether? It generates a lot of conflicts which seem very hard to fix; e.g. people with insane levels just pummel through the events like it's nothing and no big deal as Caity "somewhat" mentioned. Re: Autoclicking Poll
If you allow it for building, that will be abused. Also, I had to deal with that as a new player, we all did. You did, Caity did, we all did. Now, how do we solve this? Well, we have two options. A. We can cut down MCMMO. This empowers the new players to advance fast, and get to the same level as, let's say, Krebs, for example. But this has two negatives. Con No.1, this may bring the new players to the power held by old players, it also brings down the power that was earned by the older players. Earned through years of work, of building. But when MCMMO gets cut, so does that work that was done and time that was spent. Those two things don't ever come back. The other con, new players will have a lesser drive to play. The other way we can handle this, is simple. We don't need to waste the time and work of not just players, but the coders who added MCMMO. We can let it be. The power that some players hold, is not for everyone. These power players, they had the same feelings about the power players of the time that they were noobs. Did they petition for a power cut against the wealthy? No. They kept going, keep fighting, kept trying. And what became of those "noobs"? They became the Krebs and Obi_Wans and Chevs of today. But were they ever "noobs"? My answer, no. These "power players" we're power players fro the start. It wasn't just luck and OP books that got them where they are today. It was the drive to keep going, to win. Because of that drive, they got here. Did they shy away because there were other power figures already in play? Did the rich intensionaly oppress them? No. They won, and were welcomed to the circle of wealthy with open arms. But what of those who saw the rich as the enemy? What of those who decided that the rich would keep them from claiming victory, and engraving their name in stone? Nothing. They were forgotten, because they let the fear of power, deny them the power they had inside. That is the way things are, and the way it should be. Don't punnish those who earned power. If you want power, you earn it! Don't cut down MCMMO! Don't cut down the ones who earned their power!Batman wrote:I somewhat agree with Caity, though I think we should be allowed to use auto-clickers when building.Caity wrote:Reasons why it should be banned:

Re: Autoclicking Poll
Alright, nowhere did I say I am autoclicking. I don't care about MCMMO (My Fishing is at level 1, lol), and I don't plan to farm it anytime soon. I was thinking about the "fairness" of the situation and that inevitably some people will have gotten away scot-free for doing the same thing that others will get banned for; and this point of view came into mind. Sorry for the "misunderstanding" Jet and I hope you can see my point of view at least a bit.Jet wrote:So many Player used it already and everyone should be allowed to use it? Only because People have been doing it and didn't get banned, because of the Rules, doesn't mean Rules can't change. There are lots of People who used it actively, but the Rules about it weren't clear enough, what made Staff not able to Ban People. That is going to change though.
There'll be always people that cheat their way up. You can't change the Fact that Players already used that.
It's impossible to say how long they've been doing that, or if they were using Programs to have it automatic. They also could've done it legit and you just assume that they used an autoclicker.
Personally, I think some Players should've been banned after maxing out every single skill that is possible to Autoclick. Also, I don't want other Players to be using that, because it doesn't change the Fact that it's "cheating" of some sort. I mean seriously, what would the Server be when everyone is just autoclicking all Day long and nobodyis actually there? There is no way from stopping people, but still... this doesn't have to be a whole public thing. Just don't talk about it, then Players are going to play legit. Also, if you want to autoclick then do it quietly and not loudly announce it in the Forums where EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER can see it. That's kind of not the smartest move to do.
Anyways, my personal Opinion: Make them bannable if Players are not there / do not react after a certain amount of time. It should be alright if they're there.

Re: Autoclicking Poll
Well, perhaps a new feature coded into Craftland that renders Auto Clickers unusable. Perhaps it can search for the constant "always true" when it comes to Mouse Clicks. If it senses it for an undisclosed period of time (undisclosed so the Auto Clicks don't adjust to the feature) then a random admin is contacted and the bad deed is reported. Also, on an unrelated note, Jet, stop hounding Joyman, he is doing the best he can, and he doesn't always get the respect he deserves. So, thank you Joy for being a great helper.Joyman533 wrote:Alright, nowhere did I say I am autoclicking. Re: Autoclicking Poll
tnt Jet isn't directly coming after Joyman... He's saying that just because a lot of people have done it doesn't mean that the problem shouldn't be fixed. If you ask the majority a lot of people are against autoclicking and considers it a problem and under the category of cheat. It has been abused and it has been going on for a long time which means... isn't it about time to get the problem fixed then?tnt_master03 wrote: Well, perhaps a new feature coded into Craftland that renders Auto Clickers unusable. Re: Autoclicking Poll
I totally agree with Caity on this, she named all the reasons I thought off too, and those are good reasons. I mean it sucked too see that new players who were autoclicking had a better chance at almost everything when I actually played hours to get my skills higher. So, basically for me it's cheating and it's unfair towards other players who like to play the game ''honestly''. I think everyone should have the same chances here.
