You are allowed to say "I'm selling diamonds, anyone want to buy them" But if you spam it, its against the rules i think.

David, if nobody wants your item, nobody is going to buy it.

Ye, if no one replies the first time, and you keep advertising the same one item, no one will want it the second after the first post. Wait at least 15 minutes, then some players will have left, some joined. Better chance of selling it.
