For those of you who don't know, the ban trap chest is a chest that automatically bans you if you open it. Apparently, it's supposed to have a sign saying "If you open this you'll be banned." But I don't know if that's true.

In my opinion, it's becoming a issue. I think it's a great way of filtering out assholes who'll steal stuff, but it's also catching around 30% of new players, and the ban/appeal section of the forum is stuffed with "I just opened it and I got banned."

While I do see it's advantages of getting rid of annoying players, it's disadvantages outweigh them. I think we can keep the chest, but opening it should result in a permaban, possibly for a day or two so the message sinks in.

Nidefawl/VepaS, please consider getting rid of it, or changing it

I don't like it either. The signs that say if you open in, you will be banned, do not justify this. Opening chests is not against the rules - we do not ban players for opening chests.

well mister genious, start rethinking, there is really no reason at all to ban someone for just opening a chest, also those signs you put up where to far to actually be readable.
Therefor i already removed it and unbanned those who where banned by this.

Son of a. They were 4 to 5 day temps.
The signs were in the middle of two chests.

nidefawl will add tempban trap to LWC next update and i will put that on to chests.
Yes, permban is not ok for simple chest open but 1 day temp is.

I think the trap chests should be remade completely, because opening a chest isnt a crime maybe if a trap chest was set up so; any player could open it and they ONLY get banned when and if they take a item from the chest.

any ban for opening a chest is to harsh, no crime has been made..

Vepas, just dont make them anymore, cant you see this causes only problems?

Just stop being an ass and let people play instead of keeping players who are curious out.
