Poor Moderation

So I find it rather disturbing at which the level of communication I have to step down to in order to make any sense to some of the mods here. This is only because, I think we can agree, that professional integrity along with high standards for this community's mods should be expected. And yet, just recently, I'm baffled by some of the actions that some mods do. Allow me to explain...

Earlier I was kicked for using "ALL CAPS" in the server chat. It was two words, but nonetheless I got kicked. I don't have a problem with that, as I got a short warning and I could presume my gameplay by reconnecting. Another friend of mine in his excitement spoke in "ALL CAPS" as well, though he got kicked and thereafter banned for 15 minutes. The (SiviiX) mod's warning was, "u r the idiot".

I can't go past the point without saying that I think it's even a lack of respect one's own self to speak so primitively, and stupidly. I mean, might as well completely throw away your education and drop out of school if you're not going to use it. These are moderators who are supposed to be helping people, like customer support - they need to be understandable and knowledgeable of handling various kinds of situations. Saying "u r the idiots" has no constructive effect and moreover a negative one. It's an alienating thing, to just ban someone and call them an idiot. I get the impression that the authority in this community is ran by 12 year old individuals, who have yet to develop a decent mind of judgement. Not that the age is much of the problem, but that's just an assumption. I am only left with a perspective of dismay towards them. And when I try to explain or point out flaws, I only receive bitter resentment rather than an interest in improving said flawed actions or areas. It's disappointing, and I feel that these individual's are unfit for any moderation or authority positions.

Then muted by ignorance, as follows.

Whilst, of course I wasn't in this situation personally, high levels of capital letters generally become very irritating, and 15 minute bans for this is generally a very common way to deal with it quickly and easily. More of a "punch", you might say, which is rather important when dealing with some of the people that play on this server.

I'll wait for Siv's comment on the latter though.

I would also very much disagree with your age comments, especially with the longer serving staff members. I can't comment on the newer ones though.

Customer Support is terrible, and I'm looking straight at MacAfee.

I understand all of and even agree with some of what you said above, but what is in the second quote, I completely disagree with. I've been on this server far longer than most, and Most of the moderators are from the ages of 13-26, with a few exceptions. And most of them are perfectly mature.
Now, I'm not gonna name any names, but I do feel that some of the moderators - not necessarily the ones mentioned here - need to step up a bit.
Though I was in no way affiliated with this event, I feel as though I should comment with what I think.

Your air of superiority is really really obnoxious.

We kick players on the server if they spam caps, and if they keep doing it, they're temp banned. While I agree that "u r the idiot" is not a good ban reason, and this was handled poorly, I don't agree with the idea that our staff is incompetent, and immature. All our mods are 15+, most of the admins are 18+.

For future notice, this should either be in ban appeals or problems. I can't decide whether it's purpose is to tell us how much we suck at our jobs, or get your friend unbanned, so I suppose it could be in either.

Joined yesterday and all ready stirring up the server. :D

Good feedback from Napoleon.
Something clearly needs to be done and changed..

Thank you.

This is why i banned him for 15 minutes : http://i.imgur.com/q1pJgad.png?1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

1. The reason why it was "you are the idiot" in the ban reason was because when you are going to explain someone not to caps then you basically don't caps yourself.

2. There is no need to call a person the idiot when you are doing excactly the same thing.

3. If you are wondering about your mute, that was because you were continiously annoying other players and causing useless fights. I hope this is cleared up for now.

I was on today morning, they were being douchebags to everybody.
I joined the teamspeak server because 1 of the group members told me to, i did.
Then they started gang banging on me and insulting me with all that nonsense.
They were insulting my home country for some reason also :/
Overall..... I think..... There is something wrong with the group.

Are you talking about moderators or players?

...I'm baffled by some of the actions that some mods do.
I'm not here to condemn everyone who has a position in moderating the server or forum, but I want to think I'm correct in thinking that when it comes to a few individuals that their performance is less than desired. It's a grey area and better scoped out by older authority members who have been a part of here for some time, and have consistently held their position without any hesitation or question.
Not that the age is much of the problem, but that's just an assumption.
I'll admit that when I was 12, there were very many things I've done that are immature. In retrospect though, even at that age I actually helped moderate some RP communities for HL2/Garry's Mod. The maturity varies. Some are ready, some aren't.
We kick players on the server if they spam caps, and if they keep doing it, they're temp banned.
I said one sentence with two words, my friend said four words, and was being sarcastic. Neither of us "spammed" caps. It's almost like capital letters are treated like swastikas, in the sense that there's enough ignorance to think of them as if all it represents is the negative association this symbol has had, so when you see it, you banish it without a glance. While on the other hand though, the swastika has been used by multiple cultures, and that, when looked upon correctly, the symbol literally means "to be good". Food for thought.

This is the rule right from the rules page.
"Do not use CAPS or spam the chat (Includes excessive use of colors.)"
