Do you know what happens when you actually donate in real life? Tax credits, etc... So basically, those are all just transactions too? You don't consider giving to the local GoodWill store donating?Jovaniph wrote:Well you can also argue the idea that there is a difference between 'donating' and 'unlocking features'...rubino wrote:If we didn't incentivize donating, no one would do it...Jovaniph wrote:Craftland is pretty much pay to win when it comes to Repair Cost. I can't repair some of my equipment by myself. I always have to find some Prem 6 members who are willing to do it for me.
It wouldn't be called donations if all you are doing is unlocking features. This is also known as 'micro-transaction'. Not Donations.

By law Craftland Donations/Transactions are not considered a Tax deductible. As you are receiving items based on your "charitable contribution" it is not tax deductible.rubino wrote: Do you know what happens when you actually donate in real life? Tax credits, etc... Granted you sometimes run across things like "if you donate this much, you get a free t-shirt"...This is still consider a Tax Deductible only if the items you are receiving is of lesser value...
Humble Bundle is a great example as something you won't receive credit for.
Edit: There is a lot of grey areas when it comes to donation. It only Common Sense that Craftland isn't by definition one if you are purchasing Premium only. Freely donating is another thing.

No matter WHAT way you spin this utter bullshit, people will not give us money if we don't give them return on investment. Edit: Another thing would be Kickstarter. Sure they can call it 'donations', however you are not technically donating. You are 'investing' on an Idea or Product.

Re: New Increasing Repair Cost
This topic is way out, it started with raised repair costs, and now it is about donation taxes X3
And nothing that is donated goes straight to the reciever, something is always taken for taxes or other reasons.
and a lot of people donates to get the benefits, why do you think Bill gates donates as much as he does?
because it reduces he's tax costs, the worlds richest guy wouldn't be the world richest guy if he was always 'donating' without getting something back.
