You have to check your Controls, you should have the Chat Key on 'T' by default, if it's not that you have to see if it's set to any Key at all, maybe you unbound it by accident.

Seriously though, try to see if you have a Key set for opening Chat.

No, Legit. The T and Y key on my keyboard are broke so I have to use an online keyboard and it doesn't work in minecraft because I have to close the tap to use it.

You don't need the T or Y key, Try setting those keys to something else in the controls so you can press "N" for example to talk

How do I Change the chat controls? Its not in options

Options > Controls > Scroll down > Open Chat > Set Open Chat to Key binding "N", That should work for you. If it don't it could be a bug
