It may take 1 to 2 Minecraft days to get the achievement. V.I.P. is handed out like an achievement, so it may take a few minutes to get the rank once you have reached 24 hours.

if you look it says VIP above ur forum name but your name is still grey so it might just be because of that

The moment he posted this it still said he was apprentice. When I logged on yesterday, he was about 30 seconds past the requirement for VIP (so 24h and 30 seconds). Patience is the key.
