Lost Items Due to Suffocation Warp

Allright, today i was looking for a public spawner in the public warps, and saw one it was called " holy! spawner"
as soon as i warped, i suffocated, losing a phoenix bow, and a stack of arrows and a stack of ambrosium shards. (i lost other items too but not as important)
It took me a LONG time to get the items, and no mod/op was on to help me.
So basically im wondering if it is possible to get my items back? and also there seems to be something wrong with the warps as the second time i warped to get my items back, i was not suffocating.
i broke blocks around the area (under the warp) to get my items back as i suffocated like this before earlier (and got my items back) but this time they were gone, a tombstone was not placed due to no space and i tried /return for 1500 but my destination was obsructed :/
