Randomly teleported to spawn point

So, I was playing, and I logged off because my mom was calling. I logged back in and when I had done so, I was back at the spawn point, wasn't registered, and had lost all my items. When I tried typing /home, it first came up with an error, but the second time, I went to my house. Can anyone explain this?
