It would be cool if the craftland website had ads. It would bring a lot more money that can be used to make the server better and have more ram and etc. I don't see a down side in doing it...

The downside is... that there would be ads. One, advertisements on a website like Craftland wouldn't bring too much revenue. Two, the website would look ugly.

I get your point rubino and it really is a valid one. However, we are all using websites that contain ads though and i think it may be interesting to do if more revenue is needed.

As I said, ads on a website like Craftland would not bring much revenue at all. They wouldn't be worth their space unless they paid a standard rate instead of x$/x-clicks.

There are 100s of people that visit craftland.org daily. I think we'll get a few clicks.

I'm just saying Craftland isn't that desperate for money plus a lot of people use ad blocker anyways.

You know the statistic for people that actually click ads? Let's get some perspective. Average banner ads pay .25c to .55c per click. Did you know you're more likely to survive a plane crash than to click a banner ad? Anyways, I'll say 1 in every 500 people click the ad, and that's being generous. Maximum of $3 generated per month. I'd rather pay nidefawl $3.01 a month every month for the rest of my fucking life than have useless ads cover the screen that do basically nothing for the server.

Craftland already has 128 gigabytes of ram, and barely 17% of it gets used. I don't see any need to increase the amount anytime soon. The CPU doesn't seem to be in a need of an upgrade soon either.
