To stop the poison from killing a player on half a heart, the players would have to have maxed out protection enchantments on their armors so the spider cannot finish them off, or they gotta use lots of gummies to keep their health High enough or use buckets of milk to stop the poison which will also take off their strenght potion effects, I like the idea.

I personally would love to see a spider boss either as a dungeon boss, raid boss, or arena boss.

Ok if you can do that, then i see potential for it.

The scorpion and crab can use the spider animation and AI. I guess.

If those are your models I suggest you go to bugs.craftland.org and post a feature request with links to your models and pointing out that Nidefawl can use them for the server.
About 99% he looks into the feature requests and bug reports an not in the suggestion forum. So if you want, that he gets aware of it, then post your idea there.
