How about the ability to put in a YouTube link and be able to play video + audio.

Nide had this on the test server at one point. Think it only worked for the person who set up the video, and he scrapped it.

There is a way in garrysmod to have this. Its a map called cinima with the gamemode cinima. Maybe if you look into that you would have a base. I tested that mod & map with my friends. I could see their videos, and they could see mine(as long as they had adobe flash updated).

The problem is the update of the stream which would be a catastrophe if multiple users view different paintings, thats the bottleneck

It would only be possible for one or two public paintings where videos are put on and this would not really be a killer ingame at all.
