Hey,
the idea here is to introduce a Moa Tracker. You could craft an item : the tracker. this one can be put on the Moa. (texture could be a bracelete an the leg)
The tracker signals could then be looked up in the map at the homepage in a same way as protections are shown.
Is this possible or would be too much memory used?
Bye

If this does cause too much memory used could make it that players can only use a tracker on 1 Moa at a time and every 10 days the Moa breaks the tracker so you have to put a new one on it, I think this can reduce the number on inactive tracked moas and use less memory.

I like your suggestion jaylee. maybe increase the amount of trackable moas with the premium rank

This would only be workable if the Moa was in a loaded chunk, and even then it would take up a lot of memory and processing time

and what if the bracelete would make it possible to tp to this special moa in the same way you can tp to a player. you would need a name tag then in order to have one name for one bracelete. how that sound?

Nick, why couldn't it work like shopchests? Those don't have to be in a loaded chunk.

because shop chests only update more of there info when they are placed or when things are purchased from them. They aren't a mob that is always walking around.

Well why not update the moa when somebody gets off it, and not constantly?

Then whats the point, If you want to track your moa but your moa is almost never going to be where it says it is. Most of the lost moas are from them wandering off and falling out of the world.

Even a general estimate (as this system would give players) would be better than nothing. With that, they could at least search the area around the last sighting. If it's in the Aether, they can search the area below.
