"OreHunt"
there should be a monster hunt but for ores.... it will encourage people to mine more, and also could add more achievements to the game. Except make it go through the day time, so people don't get mixed up between monsterhunt and Orehunt.

Make it so only world-generated (not placed by players) ores count.

Re: "OreHunt"
Wouldnt the world eventually run out of ores. Know that i think of it, one day the server will be out of iron (excluding iron golem grinders)

Re: "OreHunt"
This is a fair point. Also, the world is so big it would take like 4 years irl for a whole world to be mined out completely.Handyman wrote:just like grinders make players win the monsterhunt?Toguno wrote:People with silktouch would win, just replace and break ores

Re: "OreHunt"
There are 3 worlds with ores, if you count Greycliff, which is practically identical to Newworld and World underground. That's about (3(8000 * 8000)/2)/125), if the underground was half of the world, and 125 is the chance if finding Iron ore. That's around 768000 in iron ore that is obtainable in all the worlds.

Re: "OreHunt"
According to the MineWiki there are 77 iron ores per chunk on average. The 8,000 x 8,000 world would fit 250,000 of 16x16 chunks. And 77 iron ores in 250,000 chunks would equal to 19,250,000 iron ores. And with the 3 worlds that have these normal minerals it would add up to 57,750,000 iron ores. That's not even counting coal, gold, emerald, lapis, diamond and the various aether ores. Since we are already doing math here, then why not continue?Adam wrote:There are 3 worlds with ores, if you count Greycliff, which is practically identical to Newworld and World underground. Iron: 77 x 250,000 x 3 = 57,750,000
Coal: 142.6 x 250,000 x 3 = 106,950,000
Gold: 8.2 x 250,000 x 3 = 6,150,000
Emerald: 0.2 x 250,000 x 3 = 150,000
Lapis: 3.4 x 250,000 x 3 = 850,000
Diamond: 3.1 x 250,000 x 3 = 775,000
The aether ores are comparable to their overworld counterparts being: ambrosium = coal, zanite = iron and gravitite = diamond. Let's say that the aether has about 2 times less land mass than the overworld for the simplicity. The aether is 16,000 x 16,000 which equals to 1,000,000 chunks.
Ambrosium: 142.6 x 1,000,000 / 2 = 71,300,000
Zanite: 77 x 1,000,000 / 2 = 38,500,000
Gravitite: 3.1 x 1,000,000 / 2 = 1,550,000
With a grand total of 283,975,000 ores in the 4 worlds combined.

Re: "OreHunt"
I thought about a game like that. But it would need to be a minigame world that is randomized every round
