Maybe you should add a forum topic about most popular overall forum topic. Make it called 'Popular topics' or 'Most popular' or something and it should have topics from all the forum topics, like popular build projects, popular suggestions or popular problems.

Most topics are temporary and solved over time. popular topics will be on top of a forum because there arw active commentators on them.
