Advertisements
(Where people can advertise their shop, restraunt, disco club whatever)

About Yourself
(Where new players or old players can say hi and write a bit about theirselves so others can get to know them a bit more and so that the poster can meet a few new people or get access to more people they can help)

Projects
(Where people can recruit others to donate or help with some sort of project such as a player statue or something)

Not a terrible idea. Instead of an 'About Yourself' forum, I think 'Introduce Yourself' would be more appropriate. I know a lot of you guys are pretty creative and like to collaborate on projects, so I'm down for a project collaboration forum. I worry that having a forum for advertisements would get kinda messy. We already allow players to advertise in-game every 15 minutes. With the amount of players we currently have, I think that's sufficient.

I like the idea, but the advertizements one would get spammed with threads like "plz buy my diamends at /warp shopname"

I like most of these ideas and will try to have introductions and projects up at the end of this day.
I think the advertising forum is ok IF everyone keeps to some rules.
With this I mean you may advertise your shop once, keep an list with items and sell/buy prices.
If anyone have any other suggestions for it, post it.

The introduce yourself is kind of pointless, we already have the profile on the forum and it will also show on the website.

I agree. o well, it's already there.

I just think they're be trying hard to be something their not when they make these threads. They might not be themselves because they'll take out everything bad. Most forum posts typically don't have much personality on top of that. All in all, people might get misled/misrepresented/misinformed.

I think the best way to let people get to know you is by talking to them in real time chat.

Everyone can tell things they might not be or do.
If someone wants to mislead others, then they can do that everywhere.
People may find out as soon as they meet up ingame, and maybe other players can warn that it is not correct what is said.
It is just like the applications for mods, but there can players welcome new players and give advice etc.

Exactly. The idea is to welcome new members. Most every other forum site I have ever visited has a forum for new members to introduce themselves.

On such a shop advertisements topic, they could also write they're willing to trade an item for another item, instead of just selling/buying items, which would be useful because you hardly get any attention in the chat when asking to swap items with someone.
