These are just some assorted ideas I had.

Similar to different colored glass, I think that the addition of different colored signs would add more potential for decoration.

Some colors (ex: &a &e) are hard to see on the default wood-colored signs and if we had different colored signs, for example a red sign, it could be easier to see.

Also you could use black signs sort of as a chalkboard.

I like this idea. Seems simple and wouldn't cause much lag.

Signs already hold metadata to define rotation, not sure how the colours would be easily stored.

This would be awesome to have added. Think of all the awesome things you could do with the different colors of signs.

Maybe making more types of the metadata (or however you would say it in technical terms): for example "wood,rotation 1" or "green,rotation 5".

Or you can make it a whole different block but I doubt you want to do that.

In terms of Crafting, the default choice would be dyes, but I'm not sure how that would work out. Anyone got other ideas on coloring?
