I think it should be 1v1 and we should be able to pick from a selection of kits that would be cool

Everyone that wants to play should have to sign up somewhere; then a bracket system. If your opponent doesn't show up for his match, you advance by default.

Ye chance, if we want to do this, we will need a rough estimate of how many players, and soon set up a registering system, where you enter your ingame name and timezone. We can then match players according to timezones for the first round. After which, we can start to randomly match players. I dont think you should be able to select kits, unless we have a custom world with something such as the survival games gui, but both players will have to agree on the same kit.

How about random kits per match

Ok, I think we need to start organizing this soon possibly. This is what I propose.
Brief description
Every player enters, they put their ingame name and timezone.
This will be done some way so we can have players enter up to the starting/closing date, and get matched together.
We then match everyone together for timezones. Each player will be pitched against another player from their timezone, 1v1, using the same kit. That kit will be decided closer to the date.
That will be the qualifying round. We will give the player their date and time that they will start, we can ask the player for a good time that they wish to play in the entry also. If a player fails to show up at their time-slot that they agreed, they will be disqualified. If a player has a suitable reason, they can be given another chance, only if the other player agrees. If no players show up, they are both disqualified, if one player has a suitable reason, they can both agree to play each other.
After this round, we will try to match to timezones, but if its not possible then another date will be arranged. The players will then go into a pyramid scheme, they play each other, the winner advancing to the next level. An example is below.
Image
2 players 1v1 each other, the winner going onto the next round. This will continue, with an admin adjudicating the match. The winner will then be recorded on some sort of spreadsheet that players are able to access also. The same rules apply for someone missing a slot and for the players agreeing on a time to fight.
This will still continue for each round that goes on. Doing all this will take time, and may take a week or so to complete every player so that the player is able to get online.

Main Rules

-Players will 1v1 each other
-An admin must see each fight over, and put the winner on the spreadsheet or whatever we choose to do, but I hope normal players can see this.
-Each player will get the exact same kit, and mcmmo does no matter in the fights
-The arena will be the same for each fight
-Players will be matched according to timezone at first, after which it will try to be random as possible.
-When we see two players fighting, an admin will talk to them and agree upon a time which will be on the spreadsheet.
-If a player agrees to a time, and does not show up, then the other player automatically wins. If the player has a suitable excuse, the other player can choose to fight them, or if it is an exceptional excuse, an admin can force the fight
-If both players dont show up, either a fight can be re-arranged or both players are automatically out.
-Once a player loses a fight, he is out entirely
-Once a player wins a fight, he goes on to the next round
-Any cheating players will be disqualified if identified by an admin.

Things we may need
-A chosen and agreed kit
-A chosen and agreed arena with possible spectator area
-A scoreboard system so normal players can see who wins and who loses fights possibly on the website
-Possibly a livestream of the semi and final events, if we want to make it seem like a big event

This is what I thought of at quarter to 4 at the morning, I might expand upon this later. What do people think?

What about going with a tournament bracket for the fights, an early division and a late division, then the winners of each division fight each other, it minimizes the time zone problem

Maybe a double-elimination bracket? Might be too complicated :/

Has it all been decided already? As if it has posting it all somewhere, if in staff forums or not would be nice.

also: Final match should be a Best-Of-Three or Best-Of-Five.
