Re: Dark Torches
Just realized that yesterday when i was fooling around with a zombie spawner and a block of quicksand on the surface of the aether where there's no dark spots that the zombies always spawns into the quicksand! This meaning the quicksand could represent complete darkness the darkest of dark it can get so that's why the zombies would only spawn inside of the quicksand so this proves quicksand is like dark torches.

Re: Dark Torches
Question: If I place a Torch and a Dark Torch side by side, which one will override? Will the dark torch darken the torch, or will the torch brighten the dark torch?

Re: Dark Torches
agreed, how about they dont do anything to eachother. The side with the dark torch is dark and the side with the light torch is light. End of stories and happy holidays.

Re: Dark Torches
Quicksand? Sound like a bug to me. Perhaps Quicksand doesn't register a light level? We do, also, need to darken areas, not just make areas to spawn mobs. But this still sounds cool...jaylee8111 wrote:Just realized that yesterday when i was fooling around with a zombie spawner and a block of quicksand on the surface of the aether where there's no dark spots that the zombies always spawns into the quicksand! Re: Dark Torches
No, not a bug not saying it registers light levels, What quicksand does is it brings you deep inside cause you sink therefore when your inside of the quicksand theres no light.Lumberlord wrote:Quicksand? Re: Dark Torches
Sorry to necro, but you could use craftbook's Light Switch Sign to be compatible with these torches.

Re: Dark Torches
Since redstone torches emit a light level of 7, and hostile mobs require a maximum light level of 7 to spawn, could you not use redstone torches for light? Dark torches sound cool, but for practical purposes, maybe try using redstone torches instead of regular ones.

Re: Dark Torches
Redstone torches block light level is 7, and each block farther, it drops, so to make mobs not spawn you would have to fill the whole floor completely with them to stay at level 7.Tyler wrote:Since redstone torches emit a light level of 7, and hostile mobs require a maximum light level of 7 to spawn, could you not use redstone torches for light?
