By the time that you are defeating 4 sun gods, then you will probably have gravitite armor, so death by falling is no really good example for loosing a heart
Edit:
The life shards are there to make a game easier, when loosing a heart you will only get back to how it all was (normal).

In previous updates, life shards were kept upon death. While this was a nice to have, once someone achieved 20 hearts, that person would no longer require life shards, destroying their overall worth. Now a days, life shards have more value, and even to someone with 20 hearts, will still be desirable. Life shards should stay the way they are, the economy has gone through enough already.

Don't Die.
Well obviously admins and donators would say that.
Admins and Donators? I could see admins, but why donators? I'm a donator, but I'm a regular player. I don't get any items for donating. I got a name change.

I strongly support the current system; as someone who played through the old one, I can certainly tell you that it was vastly overpowered and ruined the survival part of the game.

I would suggest raising the drop rate of life shards a bit instead. Or make them obtainable in different ways

That actually looks like a better solution than mine.

We do we have life shards anyway, if only for dungeon bosses? Just makes mobs twice as weak. We need more powerful mobs.

Here's a suggestion: make them available to purchase using vote points! One vote point equals one life shard - that's one per day, and then you could keep the current system.
