Faction world

Blues post is about guilds, this is about factions.

There should be a pvp, grief, stealing world with some sort of faction system. something like this: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/factions/

In this world, there could be guns (weapons that shoot projectiles) and vehicles. The world can have its own chat but players there can still access global, kinda like all the private creative worlds.

This would be awesome. The map for this world could also have the "faction territory" option.

We wouldn't use the factions plugin but we do have the start of a towns plugin.

Pig lets talk about Pangaea in that way if you want, we still need to setup a lot there but villages and cities could be occupied by factions as bases. I dont think factions need a world with build rights or? The quests if the storylines might be still a part of the thing plus the guild or faction thing. Right now its a lot to do but together it could work and content could be added in process. The way to get on better gear is to do the quests and then you can gear up your team or faction. Means although you can defend important quests so that the loot of it is jot only guarded by the quest itself.

But why not think about the faction thing. What would it bring to craftland in case of new players? To be honest thats the concern i got and if so would you get it going, advertise, host it somehow and keep an eye on it? I mean if this is interesting for players then please it should be a feature for getting better (growth) and not just havin one more thing like the minigames which are barely played. Sure nice to have it is always a good point, but is it worth time and effort and is there a concept to make things better on and for craftland?
I mean you could propably hatch that child right and make it to a attraction itself? Would of course be awesome to prvide the thing we like so much. I suggest a lot of advertising has to go into it, like vids, news and relations to mc community over this. Needs to be communicated that it doesnt flop and it becomes just another waste of time. You should at least gather a team of three or better five people to set this up smoothly, just an advice otherwise it will eat you up. If you make things better by this you are very welcome to administrate such a thing!

Suggested this millions of times. Nide had a town system coded or something. We had discussed it on several occasions, but at the time, on the old box, it wasn't really possible. The server had little memory as it was. Now with this newer, faster, more reliable box, it's more feasible. I will talk to nidefawl about this again when I have the chance. He had always liked the idea, and with the new server, I think it is quite possible this could come soon! :D

Well, the town system is something I want to work on eventually, I did some work with survival games and added the basics for a rules GUI so the next thing I wanted to work on was the towns system.

Very well then, maybe you can improve it to the point where nidefawl finally adds it! But on a serious note, good luck. You've done good with what you've coded for Craftland so far (except the robot), so I have faith!
