Spice of Life mod

The mod makes it where if you eat the same food over and over again, the food gives you less food over time, encouraging players to start eating a variety of foods. Obviously if this was implemented it would be a good idea to make it optional for players, but I think it would be a cool idea.

If it were to be implemented, then the player should be rewarded for eating a variety of foods. For example with a long-lasting tiny defense boost or just more hunger from the food.

yeah that'd be pretty cool, maybe like a few achievements regarding it or something

Spice of Life is implemented for the most part (saturation bar). Hunger stays the same but the saturation gained will vary due to declining nutrition levels.
If you eat the same food all the time then the saturation gained will reach zero and you start losing hunger instantly.

*From what I know the mod only adds some visuals but doesn't change the config

We don't have this implemented. We only have Saturation (Which can be observed via the blue outline of the hams) and Hunger (The hams themselves). I eat the same food all the time and my Saturation decreases at the normal rate dependant on my character's activities (declining fastest when sprinting when goldrushing).
