• Valkyrie Swords VS. Valkyrie Axes •

The day-old debate... Valkyrie Axes or Valkyrie Swords? I'm here to tell you.

Let's look at some basic facts first...

• Valkyrie Axe: +6 Damage, +4 Reach (Damage of an Iron Sword)

• Valkyrie Sword: +9 to 11 Damage, +4 Reach, 14% chance to 2x damage

• Valkyrie Axes cannot be enchanted with Sharpness, Fire Aspect or Knockback.

• Level 1,000+ Axes gives +4 base damage.

• Level 500+ Axes gives extra damage, that varies with each hit.

• Level 1,000+ Swords gives 75 ticks of bleed.

• One tick of bleed does half a heart, or 1 damage.

• One tick of bleed occurs every two seconds.

• Each level of the Sharpness enchant adds 1.25 damage.

DAMAGE OUTPUT

1. Which weapon of the two does more base damage? (Enchants and MCMMO)

• With Sharpness VIII, a Valkyrie Sword does 19-21 damage

(9 to 11 + 10).

• At level 1,000+ Axes, a Valkyrie Axe does 10 damage

(6 + 4).

2. Which weapon can deal the most damage with one hit, in one tick? (No buffs)

• With Sharpness VIII, a maximum damage jump-critical, the 2x damage chance, and a maximum damage variation, a Valkyrie Sword can do 62 damage

((11 + 10 + (20/2) x 2).

• With level 1,000+ Axes, a maximum damage variation, an axe-critical and a jump-critical, a Valkyrie Axe can do 60 damage

((6 + 4 + 14 + (24/2)) x 2).

3. Which weapon can deal the most damage in total? (No buffs)

• With level 1,000+ Swords, Sharpness VIII, Fire Aspect IV, a maximum damage jump-critical, a maximum damage variation and the 2x damage chance, the Valkyrie Sword can do 147 damage in one hit over a course of 150 seconds

((11 + 10 + (20/2) x 2) + 10 + 75).

• With level 1,000+ Axes, a maximum damage variation, an axe-critical and a maximum damage jump-critical, a Valkyrie Axe can do 60 damage. This is the same amount of damage as 2. because there is no DoT, unlike Swords.

((6 + 4 + 14 + (24/2)) x 2)

There are no more other comparisons, because they both have the same durability, range, repair material, repair level, and their special attacks both do AoE.

How do I obtain these weapons? (EXTRA)

• The Valkyrie Axe is a rare loot item from the Valkyrie Queen's locked chest in the Silver Dungeon.

• The Valkyrie Sword is also a rare loot item from the Valkyrie Queen's locked chest in the Silver Dungeon.

CONCLUSION

• Both weapons are extremely strong with a level of 1,000+ in their respective MCMMO, in their own ways.

• The Valkyrie Axe is a good weapon if you want to burst down your opponent in an instant.

• The Valkyrie Sword is a good weapon for hitting and running, while you wait for the bleed effect to take down the majority of your opponents health, using the counter attack MCMMO skill and parry to turn back on them.

This is amazing. I have (almost) nothing to say, you point out every fact we should know with great GRAMMORS and clear sentences as well as a splendid layout.

However, you state that an axe does the same amount of damage as an Iron Sword (+6 damage) as well as the sword (which is +9 damage). How is this possible?

Also, something else, in PvP, the bleeding and other abilities of swords negates the opponent's armour, while the axe is a weapon that focuses on BREAKING the armour of your opponent, making the sword the most reliable weapon in PvP.

A conclusion would be, that if you want to be the god of both PvP AND PvM, trigger the effects with your sword (especially if the enemy is heavily geared, regardless if it's a mob or player) and then crush their heads with your axe.

EDIT: I'm rather fond of these kind of comparisons, I admit I like discussing about such things with others. I would love to see more of these from you if you feel like starting such topics.
