Is this hacking?

Post by nickrev » Wed Mar 02, 2011 12:33 am

i noticed that you can change windows clock so that it goes faster. if you turn it up, because minecraft runs on your pc's Clock it lets you run much faster. do you concider it hacking? it lets you do things much faster but, it isnt a hack or a cheat, it just changes how windows is running. I do not believe its cheating/hacking however i do not wish to get banned, so i would like to know is this legal in your book nide? here is a link to the program to see what i mean: link removed

It's a program you install with the only purpose of manipulating minecraft's behaviour in an originally unintended way to gain a huge advantage over other players. Of course it is cheating. The effect might be reached more indirectly than with normal hacks, but the intention - to break the rules - is still the same.

"if u wana mine go ahead doesnt really matter."
Yep, and if you play CoD then just use an aimbot, doesn't really matter - except that no player without such a program has any chance to keep up with you.

"personnaly i think there should be a limit in speed though"
There is already a speed limit in minecraft, which is "enforced" by using your system's clock. Intentionally breaking that speed limit and then asking for a new speed limit is kinda strange.

this is a hack, everyone who uses tools like that will be permanently banned,
I think it doesn't need more explanation!
