The N Word on TS
Can staff start banning people on TS for saying the word 'nigger' or 'nigga', or other racial or offensive language?
I think it should be an immediate 6 hour ban minimum (7 day max), no warning.
Honestly, I don't care if you are my friend. I don't mind not talking to you for a week on TS. There are other ways of communication like discord or Skype. I didn't come on Craftland TS for anyone to be racist and offensive. I'm not afraid to ban them myself.

Re: The N Word on TS
The reason why we often have loose rules on teamspeak is because its hard to moderate. We do not keep voice logs so unless there is a moderator/admin in the channel there is no way to prove that they said something (Please do not record someone without their permission)
Also with issues like this on teamspeak i'm more concerned with intent of the conversation rather than the words used in the conversation. I don't think we should ban words in teamspeak, but I do agree that racism and hate speech should not be permitted.

Fuck proof. Lets just go by the number of legit complaints. You don't need proof. You really don't. Its a dumb excuse for not doing anything and there is no reason why we do need proof and if you come up with a legit reason, then do so.
edit: There is a lot of places out there where "having multiple complaints" can get you in trouble.

Re: The N Word on TS
I have witnessed a lot of players using the N word on teamspeak lately. It is just a group of them and they know that Arbr and I hate that word, but they do it anyway. The context they are using it in is not hate speech, but it is just to annoy us. Either way it should not be permitted on the teamspeak because a lot of people can get offended by it, same with issues such as suicide and even people getting bullied on the teamspeak should not be allowed. Whenever I try to tell them to stop, they just tell me to show them where the rules are and they get away with it. For example, yesterday players were playing really loud music and I told them that it is not allowed in the teamspeak and that the moderators and admins know that is not to be used in public channels. The excuse they used to get away with it was the fact that there is no written rules for the teamspeak and how are they supposed to know not to do it. Yes, I know some of them should of known because they are older players, but they did have a very valid point. We need to create a list of stuff that is not tolerated in public channels so that players, such as the ones I am describing, know exactly what the rules are and if they break them they cannot complain to us about it. The rules can be very vague such as: 1)No hate speech or racism is to be used in Public channels. 2)Bullying of other users is not allowed in public channels 3)No loud music, sounds or screamers allowed in public channels. 4). We just need something to back the things we try to enforce, even if it is just a couple of rules.

You act like banning such words seems like it is a breach of Freedom of speech and its not.Estato wrote:Lets also ban the word ''And'' while we're at it. It reminds me of my past and it triggers me.

Maybe you should educate yourself on it before going on TS saying that your freedom of speech is being violated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Freedom of speech and expression are not absolute, and common limitations to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, the right to be forgotten, public security, and perjury.
