New Rocks

Post by camyoshi » Sun Oct 19, 2014 3:21 am

If you want more than basalt stone, you would like this. This suggestion has new types of rock similar to basalt stone such as limestone. My favorite is marble. There are also new rocks that look like igneous rock such as metamorphic rock. There is also amber, which is found in the sands of the mining world. Here are pictures of the rocks:

New rocks:

Igneous Rock, Metamorphic Rock, Sedimentary Rock, Magma Rock, and Flaming Rock:

Flaming rock hurts you when you step on it and sets you on fire if you stay on it too long. Same thing with magma rock, but deals double the damage of flaming rock. If you are wearing phoenix boots, you will not burn.

Amber:

Magma:

Magma is a new fluid that appears when magma rock is broken and deals 4 hearts per half second without armor while swimming in it.

Death Stone:

Note: If You step on death stone, you will be poisoned.

The new rocks generate in specific locations in the mining world. The custom generation of the rocks are listed below:

Basalt
In the ground of the basalt biome

Marble
In the ground of any biome except nether, basalt, or aether.

Slate
In the ground of the basalt biome

Lava Rock
Near lava in the nether biome (not under it)

Limestone
Under lakes and near the ocean

Amber Ore
Under the sands of the desert biome

Igneous Rock
Under lava lakes in the nether biome (but more common)

Metamorphic Rock
Close to lava lakes in any biome (not in it)

Sedimentary Rock
Found near water lakes in any biome (not in them)

Shale
In the ground of the basalt biome

Quartzite
In the ground of the aether biome

Gabbro
In the ground of the mesa and desert biome.

Black Marble
Inside the mountains of the basalt biome

Flaming Rock (Could be called Molten Stone)
Created with a multiblock structure looking like this:

Then after time, this will happen:

Magma Rock
Found under the lava lakes of the nether biome (like igneous rock), but only the lakes at bedrock level and is a lot rarer! Or maybe it could be made by smelting igneous rock in a furnace or maybe even the golden furnace soul mentioned.

Death Stone
A very rare block located in only shadow dungeons in the mining world near the corners of the dungeon and sometimes in chests.

Here are the textures:

Basalt has been in the game for months. Only other good thing is that black marble.

1.8 rocks are already added(Not on live server yet)
Marble may be alright?
Amber doesn't really have a point, as fightr said

Some of the new rocks i like.. Quartzite I dont get (mainly because we got Quartz), but i can see some of them becoming good building items.

I vote for:

Shale
Marble
Limestone
BlackMarble
Sedimentary & Metamorphic stones as results of the following treatments

sedimentary as upgrade if you cool down igenous with water means its at the bottom of lakes, oceans next to an open underwater volcano

metamorphic is next to packed ice or made in the freezer fromout of igneous

both the sedimentary and the metamorphic do not contain lava the break as normal blocks without silktouch

What i really missed all those MC years are corals and fancy fish, thanks. If that gets added i might come back to build a underwater thingy.

Instead of the magmafluid i would rather like to see molten metals in pockets underground that can be pumped or put into buckets brought to a freezer and cast in ingots. Like molten gold, iron, silver, platin, lead, copper, etc. whatever pleases the coders concept. You could of course although add those ores and it wouldnt hurt but those fluids could be like they need to be obtained with special new buckets (crystal buckets) or any other crap. It could although be that this would be a way to get steel like finding a steelpocket.

The use of steel i dont know maybe building intergalactic spaceships to bring craftland to other alien races.

As always nice work on the textures camyoshi, if they cannot make it into the game you might post them on minecraftforum.net for other modders or i can give you a contact to the aether modders for the use of your swetblock. The swetblock could be a nice block where mobs can spawn in and if for example the spawner is surrounded by swetblocks just suffocate to death in there and the items glide to the bottom of the swetblockarea. Basically like the room would be filled with water but instead with swetblocks.

Or maybe the netherstarblock triggers a spawner to autospawn without having a player next to the spawner. But better i guess would be a upgrade to the spawners with lets say surrounded by zircon to make an autospawner that spawns crap without a player but cannot be refreshed. Another thing could be a tourmalinespawner which needs to be fueld with regenerationstones to autospawn. etc.

I like how you think, Soul. Liquid metal would make mining have much more flair and variety. Plus, the buckets could be valuable in the beginning. I see some profit on those. Could exite the economy. I also would love to see some marble! Good luck coders!
