Idea's for recruiting new players!?
Dear players of Craftland,
Just this very night we (some of the staff) were in a discussion about recruiting new players.
The cause of this discussion is that we see a drop in the amount of active players.
What the cause of that is not fully known, it could be due to a weekday or simply because players leave because the get bored.
To continue on the discussion we take it that players leave because they get bored, to find a solution to this we are going to ask you guys (the public) for good idea's to new players to come to this server.
This may be anything, from more advertising to new content.
But take note that you have to give some more information on the subject you suggest.
Just give us your thoughts about this and maybe we will all get to solve this!

Not all these features would be added, maybe just one or two. Also, new features = more players
*More Voting websites
*Fixed voting websites for existing links
*Guns, factions, pvp in the nether
*Personal dungeons which have unlimited levels with a level GUI. Every time a boss is beat the level goes up. This would also have a highscore page for most levels beaten
*Medival world which would include elemental dragons with their own biomes, new natural biomes (wickid forest ETC), and awesome villages including castles and medival styled towns
*Elemental Capes/runcapes
*The Frozen
* Gossip (spreading CL to friends and to others)
*Help GUI
*If not the nether idea, maybe a mini game area with guns and ETC
+ To remove lagg compress mini game worlds. We dont need seperate worlds for lobbies and the maps.
*On MP3 players you can view internet pages. This includes CL, forums, bug page, ETC.
*ridable dragons and other animals
*New animals such as lizards, whales, horses, ETC.
+/* with new animals if implemented add carts to some of these animals and they can pull carts which have chests.
*Stocks
*Banning people from regions
*1.7/1.8 features.
*More Voting websites

God no, don't bring up guns anymore.
Factions may attract players, but keep in mind a lot of people argue when factions is on a server (faction wars may start disputes).
I LOVE your dungeon level idea. Amazing.
I'd add to that: Skillcapes (has been suggested a while ago) after having maxed out an mcMMO skill. BUT, not to steal the idea from Runescape, perhaps a skill hat?

See, new features do not equal new players. I could just go make a server now, add a tonne of amazing features and get no players, as I didnt advertise. Advertisement is the key here.
With ads
"Have you heard of that new game? It looks amazing"
"Yea, I heard about that! Im so gonna go get that!"
Without ads
"I really want to go play a game but I dont know which"
"Beats me, not heard of any good ones"
You see my point.
We can add as many new features, but we need players. I have a few suggestions:
1) Mass server join. This requires coordination. We get a fair few players, all join a random - popular- server and advertise. I know this is Extremely annoying, and makes you want to hate people(more than I do already), but we could get some players, (But also annoyed players joining the server and going "Join ma server!!! Hahaha, Got yous backz!!!!" etc.)
2) Advertisement on sites like minestatus. I have talked to nide about this already, he looked up the prices and I basically went "holy shit." So yea, unless someone wants to pay $4,000 to minestatus for top spot, this is a long shot.
3) Posting on other forums or websites. So basically like posting on other voting sites, forums, or any server list for minecraft.
4) Verbal. So tell your irl friends, then tell them to tell their friends etc.
Now I know not many people would want to do that, and thats fine, its an idea. I can see your post already being written, Stop, Now. Its an idea.
So thats all I can think off the top of my head. So yea.

I would say that there are enough new players. Whenever I am online, I see new payers join every 2 hours. More video competitions would be good, as people watch Youtube a lot.
